Les Badochys

This folklore group from Courmayeur dates back to 1930 when some dresses were created for the honeymoon of Marie José of Belgium and Umberto of Savoy.

Since then, the owners of these dresses, that had been inspired by the local and traditional costumes, have attended feasts and manifestations to the sound of accordions and clarions, even travelling outside the Valley. The year 1955 witnessed the creation of “Les Badochys” as well as the coding of music and dances that are still performed nowadays.

Throughout the year the public can fully appreciate this historical group on many occasions, like the Patron Saint of Courmayeur’s day or the thousand-year old St Orso fair in Aosta.
