The taste of tradition

Geographically located on a crossing where several civilizations have come into contact with each other, the territories around Mont Blanc have slowly seized what best suited their needs from people passing by. The centuries have witnessed people and armies crossing over and leaving traces that are still visible today. In the past this land, like every mountain territory, was very poor: people ate to live and not for the pleasure of the palate; they would cook rustic dishes using local produce in order to avoid any waste.

Nevertheless, as years went by, tourism changed the way people cooked and more elaborate and rich recipes were invented by the cooks of the noble families passing by, by the local people working for some members of the house of Savoy, and by the middle-class families coming from town.
